Jeremiah Davis leads Muncie Central to sixth straight win

2010 SIGNEES

+ Victor Oladipo – DeMatha (MD): Six points in a 84-72 win over Paul VI Catholic on February 16. Eight points in a 71-61 win over McNamara on February 17. Five points in a 62-53 win over O’Connell on February 19.

+ Will Sheehey – Sagemont (FL): Nine points and five assists in 67-39 win over Christian on February 18.

2011 COMMITMENTS

+ Austin Etherington – Hamilton Heights (IN): The Huskies beat Northwestern, 60-56, on February 17, but no individual stats were reported. No individual stats were available for a 52-49 loss to Maconaquah on February 19. Through 16 games, Etherington was averaging 22.9 ppg.

+ Matt Carlino – Bloomington South (IN): 15 points in a 75-59 win over Perry Meridian on February 19 and four points in a 70-51 win over Evansville Harrison on February 20. Bloomington South’s win streak sits at 45, tied for second best all-time in Indiana.

Hartman’s buzzer beater lifts Cathedral over Roncalli

+ Victor Oladipo – DeMatha (MD): No scores reported on the Washingon Post’s Web Site this week; games likely cancelled due to weather in Washington D.C. area.

+ Will Sheehey – Sagemont (FL): Finished with nine points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a turnover in 51-40 win over Coral Springs Christian on February 13 to win district. Eight points and seven rebounds in 67-32 win over Parkway on February 12.

+ Austin Etherington – Hamilton Heights (IN): Did not play this week. Up next: Northwestern at home on February 16.

+ Matt Carlino – Bloomington South (IN): Missed the second half of South’s 62-51 win at Warren Central after suffering a mild knee injury. Carlino finished with six points, three rebounds and four assists as Bloomington South moved to 17-0.

+ Collin Hartman – Cathedral (IN), 2013 (pictured): Jumper at the buzzer to lift Cathedral over Roncalli, 45-43, on February 11. Finished with a game-high 18 points. 18 points in 72-40 rout of Heritage Christian on February 13.

High-flying Oladipo will play in Derby Festival Classic

Last season’s Kentucky Derby Festival Classic at Freedom Hall gave Indiana fans a glimpse of things to come with a trio of incoming freshmen.

There was Jordan Hulls connecting with Christian Watford, the Gold Team MVP, for a fastbreak alley oop. And there was Maurice Creek carrying an Indiana flag above his head during the pregame warmups.

This year’s game, which will be played on April 10, will include high-flying DeMatha wing and IU signee, Victor Oladipo. (Game information available here.)

“Yeah, I’m going to play in that one,” Oladipo told Inside the Hall via telephone on Monday evening.

Oladipo has emerged as a senior leader for the Stags, who are 20-3 and No. 20 in the latest USA Today Super 25.

Sheehey continues solid season for Sagemont

+ Victor Oladipo – DeMatha (MD): Nine points, including a 3-pointer, as DeMatha beat St. John’s 70-54 on February 2. DeMatha was scheduled to play Good Counsel on February 5, but that game appears to have been cancelled due to the blizzard in the D.C. area.

+ Will Sheehey – Sagemont (FL): 14 points and seven rebounds in a 56-52 win over Oldsmar on February 1. 12 points and nine rebounds as Sagemont beat Miami LaSalle 46-35 on February 4. In a nationally televised game against Monteverde on February 5, Sheehey had 14 points in a 57-52 loss.

+ Austin Etherington – Hamilton Heights (IN): The Huskies fell to 11-5 with a 70-63 loss at Westfield on February 6. Etherington had a game-high 27 points, including 11-of-11 free throws.

+ Matt Carlino – Bloomington South (IN): Bloomington South moved to 16-0 with a 67-49 rout of Columbus North, clinching a share of the Conference Indiana title. Carlino had six points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

Carlino helps No. 1 Bloomington South move to 15-0

+ Victor Oladipo – DeMatha (MD): Nine points in 65-52 win over Ireton on January 26. Led DeMatha with 19 points in 67-65 overtime loss to Gonzaga on January 29. DeMatha dropped its second straight game, 62-60 to St. Anthony’s (NJ) on January 30. Oladipo had 17 points. The Stags are No. 15 in the USA Today Super 25.

+ Will Sheehey – Sagemont (FL): 17 points and five rebounds in a 67-53 win over Chaminade on January 25 and 17 points and seven rebounds on in a 48-47 win over University on January 29.

+ Austin Etherington – Hamilton Heights (IN)
: The Huskies moved to 11-4 with a 64-57 win over Tipton on January 29. Etherington led the way with 19 points. A fan report from this game can be read here.

+ Matt Carlino – Bloomington South (IN): The Panthers improved to 15-0 with a 66-55 win over Indianapolis Pike on January 29. Carlino scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. South is No. 9 in the USA Today Super 25 and has won 41 straight games.

Patterson leads Broad Ripple to City Championship

+ Victor Oladipo – DeMatha (MD): 15 points in a 79-71 loss on January 18 to Mater Dei (CA). DeMatha bounced back with a 83-55 rout of O’Connell on January 20 and Oladipo had six points. On January 22, Oladipo scored 14 points in 70-64 win over Carroll.

+ Will Sheehey – Sagemont (FL): 20 points, seven rebounds and three steals in 55-45 loss to Coral Springs Christian on January 21.

+ Austin Etherington – Hamilton Heights (IN): 20 points in 76-53 win at Sheridan on January 23. Hamilton Heights fell 61-51 at Eastern (Greentown) on January 22.

+ Matt Carlino – Bloomington South (IN): 13 points in a 77-48 blowout victory over Martinsville on January 22. 13 points in 61-48 win at Franklin Central on January 23. Bloomington South has won 40 straight games.

+ Ron Patterson (pictured) – Broad Ripple (IN): 14 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with six seconds remaining, to lift Broad Ripple over Howe, 62-61, for the City Tournament championship on January 23. (Game story by Kyle Neddenriep here.) 15 points in 59-46 win over Manual earlier that day. 28 points, including 6-of-8 from behind the 3-point line, in 61-48 win over Cathedral on January 21. 22 points in 75-57 win over Indianapolis Washington on January 19. Averaged 19.8 points in four City Tournament games.
