HD Video: 2016 guard Eron Gordon at 2012 Run-N-Slam

Like James Blackmon Jr. and Trey Lyles before him, class of 2016 guard Eron Gordon holds a scholarship offer from Indiana before ever playing a game of high school basketball.

The Hoosiers and Purdue both offered Gordon, the younger brother of former IU star Eric Gordon, last month and figure to follow him closely in July. Gordon, who will attend North Central High School next fall, is also receiving early interest from Butler, Michigan, Ohio State and Xavier and that list only figures to grow as his development continues.

We’ve compiled just under a minute of high definition quality video of Gordon from a pool play game at last weekend’s Bill Hensley Memorial Run-N-Slam in Fort Wayne in the embedded media player below:

At first I was like, “nothing here to get too excited about”.. then I took a step back and realized he is in 8th grade and is EJ’s younger brother.. check.

It will be interesting to see how he compares with Eric. I would have liked to see how he looks on outside shots. He seems quick, but does he have that NBA first step that Eric always had. Eric’s range and quick first step, combined with a surprisingly powerful body made him great even as a freshman and it has translated to the NBA. Let’s see if Eron has that in a couple of years.

Man-child in the making..no fear going to the hole just like Eric. Has an ugly outside shot..but he can hit it. 8th grade???..give me strength! Kid’s going to “OD” on recuriters.

I have seen other videos of this kid and he can shoot the ball from deep but it is an ugly, ugly shot. For an 8th grader this kid has mad skills but I hate getting to excited over a kid his age although I have been waiting for Trey Lyles that long and still can’t wait til he gets here.

I’ve got 2 boys his age, I wouldn’t get too excited or worried about what they can’t do at 14 years old. Loooong way to go before he’s even grown up. Look at how much all these other kids we watch have grown and improved in just a couple years. He has the pedigree, just let him work and he’ll be fine…..and hopefully a Hoosier.

I have likely seen some of the same videos, however, I am less worried about the look of his shot because what I see is an incredibly quick release and dead eye shooter.
