When the Cornhuskers weren’t using the three-man action up top to get an advantage, they were also simply just beating Indiana off the dribble on the perimeter. Here’s a look at two plays from the second half. In the first, Hunter is guarding Cheatham on the right wing and the smaller Cheatham simply is able to blow by him left for the score. In the second play, Smith is beat by Thorbjarnarson off the left wing for a bucket.
Both Thorbjarnarson and Cheatham went against bigger IU wing defenders for the score, perhaps emboldened by a larger player not able to keep up with them.
