2016 guard Bruce Brown commits to Miami

Class of 2016 Vermont Academy guard Bruce Brown committed to the University of Miami in an announcement today at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.

The 6-foot-3 guard, who took an official visit to Indiana in early October, chose the Hurricanes over the Hoosiers, Xavier, Purdue and UMass.

Brown had initially planned to wait until the spring to make a decision, but opted on Monday to trim his list of schools to Miami and IU and also set up today’s announcement.

The No. 40 player nationally according to the 247Composite, Brown averaged 15.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, two steals, 1.8 assists and 1.4 blocks per game in July at the Peach Jam for the Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC).

Brown, who has a 6-foot-9 wingspan, is one of the top defensive guards in the class of 2016.

He could be the first of two recruits today to announce for Miami today as five-star forward Dewan Huell is scheduled to announce a decision early this afternoon.

Indiana signed three players this fall for its 2016 recruiting class: Curtis Jones, De’Ron Davis and Grant Gelon. Pittsburgh transfer Josh Newkirk will also become eligible next season.

There is no evidence, because if I were putting forth that assumption, it would be merely hypothetical.

    Which I’m not.

Here is the thing – when Ole Man speaks, he voiced his opinion based on facts. Saying “His Loss” is an opinion based on emotion. I personally respect opinions based in fact over opinions based in emotion.

Do I agree that the loss of BB is a major set back? No – I think RJ/JN/CJ will make a strong back court. Would I like RA? Absolutely. Would RA mean we have depth? Yup. Are 3 really good guards enough? Maybe if CH and AO can slide to the 3 – it isn’t a big deal? Idk – but I vote keep it classy!

I read a while back that Eron was likely a JUCO prospect due to scholastic issues, which cooled IU. If my recollection is correct, maybe that will be revisited after his sophomore year at JUCO.

    Thank you, EF.

That’s not at all what I said. You posed the question, “How many kids have have gone pro that played at Miami?”

I simply looked up the answer to your question and provided it to you because I was curious about it myself.
