HD Video: Trevon Bluiett at the adidas Invitational

  • 07/16/2012 10:48 am in

Trevon Bluiett had the opportunity to play in the Reebok Breakout Challenge in Philadelphia to open the first July evaluation period.

Instead, the Park Tudor junior-to-be chose to stay closer to home in Indianapolis and play with some of his closest friends on Spiece Blue in the adidas Invitational.

Bluiett was watched closely throughout the event by several schools, including Indiana.

Our friends at UMHoops.com compiled over three minutes of high definition quality video of the two-time state champion which is available in the embedded media player below:

  • Really enjoy the videos so I hope this doesn’t sound ungrateful. The court level perspective isn’t the best view to watch these games on video. There’s a reason why games aren’t shot this way on TV.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Trevon play as the biggest guy on the court, I’ve only seen him in high school games or with Trey and Company. Watching the video made me think of Anthony Mason (New York Nicks), thick barrel chested player that knows his way around the court. Not a super athlete but still effective. Mark Aguirre is another, as well as Chuck Person. Trevon’s frame looks like it could carry a bunch of muscle weight so perhaps that’s his path to college and the NBA, if you’re not super tall, super athletic or quick, what’s your angle. You’re still really good so you’ve got to go with what God gave you. Smart player is another descriptor. I would love to see him at IU, he’s a winner as coach says, year round.

Man he looks like he’s gotten a lot stronger since the high school season

  • When you’re in a gym with less than two rows of bleachers, the options are limited.

Games shot for television have production crews and superior equipment. Most of the video we shoot and other sites shoot is done by a reporter standing courtside with a camcorder.

This guy will be ranked in the top 60 eventually. He’s a great rebounder and has a high percentage mid-range and perimeter shot. He’s going to be a great asset if we can get him.

  • I wouldn’t be disappointed if we got him and and I wouldn’t be disappointed if we didn’t get him

I was kind of wondering if we could get a few different angles of the same plays. Maybe some commentary to go along with it. You could try climbing up in the cat walk of the gym to get a unique angle. LOL

We are extremely lucky to gt the look at all.

    I counted 3 rows :-}

Assuming they even have bleachers at a particular court. Had a funny image in my head of you or the UMHoops guys trying to stand of a folding chair for a better angle.

I also have to imagine you guys know all the electrical outlets at different gyms by now (for recharging camera batteries).

  • MisterSlippery

No elevation on his jumper, but that’s not too uncommon.

  • g. mann

Great positioning for rebounds; knows how to carve space. And score. Really maturing nicely. God, some of these guys are going to be scary-good BEFORE they get to college.

It goes in. End results for me.

  • The first row is basically level with the ground. It was quite uncomfortable.

Do you know if I will be seeing any of our boys in Colorado this year? Would be glad to get us some more footage, that is if you can deal with eye level. LOL

  • stevetodd73

I have seen them on ladders before in the gym.

  • dmglotz

Robert Vaden clone. Which is a very good thing.

  • SCHoosier

I’ll leave it to TC and staff todetermine the final mix of players from who’s available and willing to commit. They seem to be doing pretty well thus far.
