CHICAGO — Like former teammate Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo also skipped the drills at day one of the NBA Draft combine at the Harrison Street Athletics Facility.

Inside the Hall was at Oladipo’s media session Thursday afternoon in which he touched on his height, wingspan and how he’s looking to keep improving each day as draft day nears:

“Victor Oladipo was even smaller at 6’3.25″ in socks and 6’4.25″ in shoes. His wingspan was a very long 6’9.25″, however” Chad Ford.

Why doesn’t a university like Indiana have an accurate tape measure? I really do not understand the advantage of exaggerating these numbers…the league will know the reality, and even in collegiate competition, whether or not your listed 2 inches taller than you are does not affect anything on the floor.

Don’t single out IU. Everyone does this. Probably the only person ever listed at a height shorter than he actually is is Kevin Garnett, who is close to 7’1″ but insists on being listed at 6’11” because he knew if he were a “7-footer” everyone would expect him to stay near the basket.
Since the first time I stood beside Vic I said he was only 6’3″ at best.

Closer a kid gets to committing to a school..seems the taller he gets. Apparently the roster looks and reads better to have a bigger team. Not sure how it impacts your opponent..because they are also exaggerating the height of some of their players. A silly game played for public perception/marketing purposes.

Measurements are taken in their shoes. Pretty standard practice. Vic was 6’4.25″… you think they are going to round down? Cody was actually taller in shoes than we listed him. But he is probably still growing.

When you can jump (seemingly) higher than your own height, an inch or two feels irrelevant.

Such a classy kid. I miss him already. Will be great for the NBA.

The difference between 1-2 wing span inches etc mean diddly to these scouts. This is a non-issue. When he did that 360 dunk in a game it didn’t seem to be a problem.
