I am one of those people that somewhat question Anya, but when you watch this video its hard not to like him. Seems like a dominant force underneath.

However, go to the Stanford Robinson highlight video in the article under this one. In half of the highlights they are playing against Anya. In alot of the shots you see Anya standing around, in a couple of the shots you see him only making it to between half court and the top of the key while the rest of his team is all the way down the floor.

If CTC wants to run more i just don’t see how he fits. They will have already gone down the court and taken a shot before Anya even gets there.

I trust CTC and he obviously knows much more than i do about this stuff, but these are just a few observations i made watching the Stanford Robinson video.

s-Hoops..I’m not that negative on the big guy. Remember Robert (Tractor)Trailor who played fo MU and had a decent pro-career? Anya is a space eater..great arm length and can jump..the post moves will come..he could also play the four. I’ll take him..altho Lee and the other bigs we’re still looking at are no slouches either.

No offense Milla, but if he were tweeting about Fords and you were a Chevy man or about the Dodgers and you were a Giant’s fan, you would most likely not complain. Correct?

He is only in descent/good shape guys.  Wait until he gets in college shape.  He has the foot work and the hands, not to mention he carves out space like an excavator.  He will help a team like we have coming in in so many ways.  Our guys will have to practice against a Derrick Nix type player everyday, and I for one believe that is immeasurable.

  • ace132

u might want to look at tractor trailor’s NBA career again. pretty big bust. but i agree, in college he was a force. anya could have the same impact for the hoosiers

  • Hoosierfan60

Reminiscent of a young Draymon Green perhaps? I hope he can develop a 15-18 foot jump shot if he doesn’t already have it in his repertoire.

  • IUDan

He blocks a ton of shots at only 6’8″ . ..  seems bigger than that.  Definitely impressed with his athleticism at that size – he’ll be great in the middle!

  • IUisAwesome

Noah was being a jerk.  He is really popular at my school (HSE) with Gary Harris and Zak Irvin.  I think he’s mad at Collin because Noah challenged him to HORSE in the Fieldhouse and got blown away in front of all the girls lol!

You guys don’t realize that BJ already played with one of the best PG prospects in the country in James Robinson. He is #43 ranked recruit overall on ESPN, making him the 4th best PG in the class. So it’s not like he hasn’t been playing with someone who can’t get him the ball.

I hope you are right and a player like Yogi does make him that much better, but I can’t buy your argument at this point.

Bulk?  That’s how he grocery shopped.

    Rick Mahorn, anyone?

  • MillaRed

Uhhhh, i don’t get it. Much like politics, I like keeping my religion to myself. Don’t need to throw it out to the public. It’s there, I have my beliefs, and I prefer to keep them to myself.

    It’s basketball man.

  • Geoff_85

Really? I was thinking a slightly bigger Jerry West.

  • Ocean Zhang

All the videos show him against guys much smaller than him. I’d be impressed if he could have done all that against similar sized competition. Of course, being 275, there won’t be many opponents his size even in B1G, but when he does face other bruisers like Nix, how’s he going to hold up? He will probably be a role player like Matt Nover, going after the rebounds, but one thing has me really concerned: his rebounding numbers. Why is he getting 4 rpg against much smaller guys?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  As a young Christian, I find his comments inspiring sometimes. It’s not like he’s demanding for everyone to be this way. Its great that one of my biggest role models looks up to the same God that I do and has improved his quality of life. (Obviously the Lord is blessing him/us over and over again bc of this) If he were out saying “You should do this or you should do that,” then I would completely disagree. I keep politics to myself because if what i wanted were to be implemented, they could affect certain individual’s self interests and quality of life.  I don’t think posting passages or quotes of peace and love should have to be kept to one’s self. If they really offend people they should ignore it and scroll to the next tweet. Just like i ignore the ones regarding things where people profess their love for and participation in sex, drugs, and alcohol. Or advertisements of such. Basketball is so small in the scope of life. I think its great personally. If it offends, just ignore and enjoy the fruits of his hard work.

p.s. I love your posts on this site Milla. Really. I just happen to disagree on this particular subject.

Looks and plays like a young Zack Randolph. A real natural feel for the ball and knows where its coming off the board, and how to block without his body.

  • mcarmien

He is in many ways a public figure and bc he is, many things about him are outspoken including his faith, I would argue if you were in public spotlight ur perspective on religion and so forth would be shared as well not bc u necessarily wanted it that way but bc people want to know, the difference is he uses it as inspiration to others, can’t fault a guy for that

  • Bleeding Crimson

Don’t know if you know but CTC is pretty Religious himself…I’m pretty sure the team has prayed together.

  • Bleeding Crimson

Alex, It seems like most comments removed are from Guest?  Do they have a tag name then it is removed to Guest after you take it down.  I remember a few years ago we had one that keep on pissing everyone off.   He was also on the Scoop site a little more.

No one in any way is saying his tweets are offensive. Goodness man I am not asking to go to hell lol.

In the grand scheme of things, I prefer to follow my own path. CTC is using his job, and the University as a vehicle to express religion. I cannot do that at work. Most people cannot do that at work.

I am not looking to him for spiritual guidance. Am looking for him to lead our basketball team.

  • MillaRed

I would argue he is the ONLY B1G coach expressing his religious views publicly. Which I do not think reflects well in the basketball realm.

I am a Christian and do not need a head basketball coach at any university to remind me of that on a weekly basis.

I swer ta Gawd, why couldn’t real life be like video games? I was able to win 2 titles with Killingsworth averaging a 20/20 game and Ratliff raining 18 a game from outside.

    ….if only.

  • HoosierKen73

You’re entitled to your opinion and entitled to espress it. I also like your posts on here. But I respectfully disagree with you on this. I happen to think, he’s not turning off anyone on our team by his faith…he certainly didn’t turn Duane Wade off by his religion…doesn’t appear to be turning recruits off. Have you visited Cody Zeller’s twitter account? I don’t think it hurts to have him set himself apart from the rest in that aspect of his life. Don’t think he’s trying to remind you..of anything. He expressing how he feels AND he is entitled to express himself as much as the next guy. Doesn’t really bother me in the least.

  • Eyes_of_silver

Marco Killingsworth, 6’8, 265 or 270, and muscled like a $%$$&%! as a senior.  But couldn’t dunk the ball, hell, couldn’t touch the rim a lot of times.  Was much better when he played at Auburn and was lighter (248)

  • Eyes_of_silver

Hartman might not be all that, but Davis and Fisher look like the real deals.

Definitely do not pass on BeeJay. Just watching him play, I could tell that he would do the exact same thing at IU. He reminds me of Cousins from pUKe.
