Jackson-Davis sets a ball screen for Phinisee and he takes it left. Leal sets up in the right corner:
As Phinisee drives left, Nate Reuvers hedges as Trice keeps a hand on Phinisee before moving to Jackson-Davis. With Race Thompson sealing off Wahl, it’s up to Jonathan Davis to help on Jackson-Davis off the weak side. Leal calls for the ball as Davis helps over on Jackson-Davis:
Phinisee jumps in off the perimeter and whips the pass weak side to Leal. Davis has a hand on Jackson-Davis off the pass and he’s now got ground to make up for the closeout:
Leal rises and hits the shot in stride, despite a good closeout from Davis:
This was Leal’s first shot of the game and helped get him, as well as the Hoosiers, going.
