Film Session: Wisconsin
With under a minute to go in the first half, we see a similar set up to the first play in this Film Session. This time it’s Durham getting the high ball screen from Jackson-Davis going left. Leal is in the corner:
As Durham gets downhill, Wisconsin’s defense really collapses around him and Jackson-Davis. Four defenders are close and Davis has turned his body towards the action on the right low post in help position. Leal calls for the ball:
Durham whips the cross-court pass and Davis still has a foot in the paint:
It’s another pretty strong closeout from Davis, but Leal is able to hit his shooting motion strong, though he just misses the shot:
With a lot of needed attention on Jackson-Davis and Durham by defenses, Leal’s a nice option on the weak side for the Hoosiers if he can continue to play at a higher level like he showed Thursday night.
