For those who have questions on who this kid is, he’s from Aurora, Colorado, played up a year this summer with the Colorado Hawks and received an Indiana offer after a huge July.

I can’t imagine an opposing player his age in his school league watching him in warm ups thinking, “oh no, I have to guard that guy”. Can you imagine, you’re 6′ 1″, 155 lbs playing center for your small school by default and then you run into Deron Davis. You may just quit the game.

  • Brklynhoosier

Isn’t this the kid ppl’ve been saying CTC sent the “awkward” tweet to? If so, I can see why. I also would have been thinking about him a lot. A whole lot…

  • SirEric

This kid is a stud in the making. Gotta get on him early.

  • Sherronhasaheadache

wow! he hs a sweet jumper too for a big. CTC is all over this kid.

  • ScoopGeoff

    Oh my….

  • stevetodd73

Do you know what school? I am going to need to check him out!

  • stevetodd73

    Did someone already say WOW?

  • marcusgresham

Are you kidding? Most 8th grade teams don’t even have a 6’1″ kid! How big is this dude?

  • Kelin Blab

Saw him play by accident this summer vs a good speice team.
+ Very skilled for his age. Seems to have been coached well.
+ Goes either way in the both
+ Is all arms and uses them well, easily held his own vs older kids

Sorry but this kid is way to young to know whether or not he will be any good. This is why we should concentrate on older players cause all this does is lead to troubles such as Lyles. He really didn’t look that impressive anyways considering the talent he is playing against but you never know, he may turn into a stud but way to early to tell.

  • ScoopGeoff

You know you’re making an impact when you “dislikes” for saying “oh my…”

  • IUfanPurduePhD

Granted that the kid was usually being guarded by smaller opponents, but for a kid his age and size to be able to make several successful spin moves while dribbling is very impressive. Kids who are that big that young are usually very awkward and can’t control their own body. I’d love to see a video of Cody as an 8th grader and see if he was as smooth with the ball as Davis is. I’m not anointing Davis as the next Zeller (as I think they’ll be different players), but I think Davis is impressive (again, considering his size/age).

  • stevetodd73

    That’s funny, 6 dislikes?

  • IUJeff

Need to sign in to like or dislike IMO. Too many trolls here these days disliking posts all IU fans would like.

  • ScoopGeoff

See Steve you say “wow!” and no response… But “oh my…” that’s clearly controversial.

    Overland, I believe.
