Blackmon Jr. cleared, but will not return for AAU

Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette: Blackmon staying on sidelines for AAU

“I just got cleared to do everything that I want to do,” Blackmon said Thursday during the Gym Rats Basketball Association National Championship at Spiece Fieldhouse. “I am just taking a little time to get ready, and I don’t want to rush it.”

Wearing street clothes and no brace on his left knee, he watched his Spiece Indy Heat teammates beat the Illinois Wolves 66-63 in the first game of the tournament.

“That’s been the hardest part for me because I want to be out there,” Blackmon said. “I have been rooting my teammates on, and I have been a student of the game.”

Wise decision. No need to do anything excessive in AAU when you have an entire career ahead of you.

Good decision. If anything he should make sure he is healthy for his year at Bishop Luers. By the way, sometimes I troll over at Hammer and Rails and it is said how awful of a site it is. It is not comparable to ITH.

Here’s an example of a benefit of committing early … He’s making the right decision – hopefully a long successful career ahead of him

Good decision there..work on his game individually and be ready for his high school season in prime physical shape. Already has an offer from IU..other than refining his skills..doesn’t need AAU this summer.

  • Evansville Hoosier

Already is COMMITTED… Don’t give him any ideas.. ha
