Hanner Mosquera-Perea’s La Lumiere squad fell in the quarterfinals of the National High School Invitational 62-54 at the hands of Florida’s Montverde Academy. The incoming Indiana freshman tallied 10 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

A look at some of his athleticism on display:

La Lumiere plays like they think they are in an All Star game. No passing to team mates at all. Everyone is just jacking it up. Surprised how poorly coached they are which owrries me about Hanner.

Yes he needs to develop and learn how to play the game from someone who actually understands how to play basketball but this kids gonna be really good in a couple years. When there is actually plays ran to get him in position to sucseed hes gonna be hard to stop. Thats an NBA body in a teenager! Imagine him with 20 pounds of muscle!!! Hes gonna be a rich man in about 3 to 4 years. He also sounds like hes a hard worker and willing to learn so hell probably accelerate in his development at IU. CTC is flat out getting it done. Envy of the BIG and soon to make Calipari very frustrated. Its gonna be alot of fun to be an IU fan for many years to come and this is only the begining!! Once the real winning and lottery picks start happening its gonna be rediculous to see yhe types of players CTC will be able to get. Unlike UK we dont have to do it with a big bag of cash!

  • Can we start taking wagers on who is going to win the dunk contest at this year’s Hoosier Hysteria? I honestly do not know who to pick.

That’s the PUke influence ala Johnson. Very happy that he is theirs and not ours.

  • This team is coached absolutely terrible and the guards do not know how to get the big men the ball. It looked like they were playing street ball out there. Perea is going to be much better when he has Yogi and Jordy giving him the ball and playing against Cody in practices is just going to make him that much better. Also Hanner wins the dunk contest at Hoosier Hysteria this year.

    #6!!!!

  •  My vote is Perea will win and I will definitely be there to see.

  •  This has been the starting lineup I have been saying for a while now but people seem to think that Jordy is untouchable and there is no way he won’t start. Yogi is just a better PG than Jordy and he deserves to start. You have to play to win and seniority can’t always rule in my opinion. Plus I think Jordy would be better fit to come in with the second unit since they will be young and he can be there leader.

  • I like Watford starting at the 4 so much better with how much we want to get up and down.

    Zeller
    Watford
    Sheehey
    Olapido
Hulls <— I do think he will play a lot at the 2 but I also expect him to improve on the defensive end. He has to if he wants to keep his spot.

But its pretty nice when you have the options we will have this coming year.

I have not seen an IU player that can do the things he does in a very, very long time.

Something Special is going to happen next year in Bloomington Indiana!

Perea is soooo quick off his feet…hope he works on his FT’s cause with that hop he’s gonna get a lot of chances. Think of transition..Yogi has the ball..he can penetrate himself and dish to Perea or get it back outside the hUlls and/or Hollowell. be still myheart!

b-side..every year this time I etner college b-ball rehab center for a week..sounds like you need to join me:)

Fortunately for us, ITH treats college b-ball like the NFL.  In other words, there is no IU off-season around here since the coverage keeps coming, whether it’s summer time workouts, AAU, recruiting, etc.

Reverse dunk and a hop to envy .. Combine this with the 3 point shoot out we have an amazing Forward 😀

Can’t wait for the next season in Assembly Hall its gonna be insane 😀

I don’t often wish for the summer to fly by……..but man I can’t wait for October!
