Ferrell’s 25 points, seven assists help Park Tudor return to 2A title game

SEYMOUR — Park Tudor is going back to Conseco Fieldhouse for another shot at a state championship.

For the second consecutive year, Park Tudor knocked off Forest Park in the Class 2A Semi-state title game at the Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium in front of more than 8,000 fans.

But unlike last season, the Panthers didn’t need four overtimes to knock off the Rangers, who came into the game 25-0.

Park Tudor junior and IU commitment Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell led all scorers with 25 points and dished out seven assists in a 57-45 victory.

Ferrell did a little bit of everything in the win — he knocked down 3′s and pull up jump shots, penetrated and got to the foul line and found open teammates on the perimeter as Park Tudor exploited Forest Park’s 2-3 zone.

Nice!! I can’t wait to go to State! So “geeked” right now! Probably won’t sleep until next Saturday. I’m hoping there’s a nice crowd of Yogi and Park Tudor supporters (IU fans!) at Conseco on Saturday. I may be a little bias but can you say Yogi=Mr. Basketball 2012?! Join the campaign!

Saw Yogi for the first time in person today and I was very impressed! He has great court vision and is so quick. I also loved seeing how much passion and intensity he has. You can tell he is the leader of his team and his fellow players have great respect for him which to me is invaluable. Can’t wait for him to get to B-town!

Was also impressed by Bluiett- he’s got a great shot! Would love to see him as a Hoosier as well!

Can’t wait til Yogi gets here. Been a while since we’ve had a “pure” PG – and Yogi seems like a better guy than Armon.
