Updated timetable for Hoosier Hysteria

by Alex Bozich in Media | October 6th, 2007

Lance StemlerFrom IU Media Relations:

The Indiana University Athletics Department will hold its annual Hoosier Hysteria on Friday, October 12 in Assembly Hall. The event will feature the IU men’s and women’s basketball teams and the IU volleyball program.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the cost of admission is $5 (event night or in advance) or two canned goods (event night) to benefit the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.

IU men’s and women’s basketball players will be available for autographs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Autograph cards will be provided as student-athletes are not allowed to sign any outside items.

The action will begin when the Hoosier volleyball squad hosts Michigan State in a 7 p.m. match.

At the conclusion of the match, the floor will be prepared for basketball and women’s coach Felisha Legette-Jack will address the crowd as her team warms up. The squad will hold a three-point shooting contest with the winner taking on the men’s champion.

The men’s team will follow and coach Kelvin Sampson will welcome the Hoosier faithful as his team will go through warm up drills and then complete its three-point shooting contest. Following the men’s and women’s three-point shootout, the Hoosiers will hold a slam dunk contest which will be followed by a brief scrimmage.

For ticket and event information, call 1-866-IUSPORTS or visit IUHoosiers.com.

“We try to make it as fun as possible, nothing serious,” said Sampson. “We want everybody healthy the next day. It is an incredible event, full of enthusiasm and passion. We look forward to it every year.”

To quote the esteemed Postmen E, "The Greenspan Memorial something or other".... I think at this point you could rename the blog the "Inside 17th and Dunn" and comment just a spell about the football team, they actually may deserve it for not losing games they are supposed to win!

    Cheers!

Uhhhhhh....kelin? If you get there at 8, you will be in the balcony. I'm getting there when the doors open (there is usually a line) and will watch the v-ball game.
