Film Session: Purdue
Phinisee takes a Morgan ball screen right. As Al Durham Jr. moves to the right corner, Cline stays on the left block to catch Morgan on the roll:
As three defenders pay attention to Morgan, Phinisee throws the skip pass down to Durham in the corner:
Durham throws the touch pass straight to Smith on the right wing as the majority of Purdue’s defense is in the lane:
Smith has plenty of space to shoot on Eifert:
But he opts for the drive into the paint. Eifert meets him and draws the offensive foul call on Smith:
We’ve seen this a number of times from Smith this season. Once he’s in the lane off the perimeter, he’s been quite susceptible to offensive fouls, turnovers and an inability to finish.
