Film Session: Purdue
Morgan sets a ball screen for Langford as he drives right. Smith is in the left corner once again, as Grady Eifert sinks off him, paying attention to the action on the wing:
Eifert grabs Morgan on the roll and with four Purdue defenders hanging in and around the lane, Smith fills space on the left wing. Langford makes the pass:
This time around instead of the quick 3-pointer, Smith drives on Eifert:
Smith is met by Trevion Williams and Cline in the paint and he’s got no angle to the rim. So he instead looks to Zach McRoberts in the right corner. But Carsen Edwards sniffs it out and comes to intercept the pass:
It’s a steal for Edwards:
Edwards passes it ahead to Cline. He brings it up to the timeline and then passes left to Nojel Eastern:
Eastern throws up a wild shot that misses:
But Eifert is there for the putback on the other side:
Smith’s decision to drive instead of shoot turned into a quick two points for the Boilermakers here.
