In Sunday’s showcase game of the adidas Super64, 7-footer Thon Maker of Team Loaded (Va.) put on a show in his team’s 73-70 overtime loss to Game Elite (Ga.) with an unofficial line of 21 points and 11 boards.
Maker scored in a variety of ways, showing great body control, ball skills and athleticism for a player his size. He also recorded a few blocks.
The junior, regarded as the top player in his class, has an IU offer.

Class of 2016 guard Tyus Battle and big man Thomas Bryant failed to advance to the Nike Peach Jam finals, as their Team Scan fell to Playaz Basketball 65-55 in Sunday’s semifinals.
Battle filled it up from deep (4-of-9) and at the line (7-of-10) to finish with a game-high 18 points. Bryant got his points in early, scoring five along with grabbing six boards.

Indiana targets Chris Clarke and Kenny Williams of Boo Williams fell in the semifinals of the EYBL Nike Peach Jam on Sunday to Team Penny, 77-68.
Clarke finished with 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting, mostly slashing to the basket off the baseline and getting out on the break and to the line. Williams scored 12 points off two 3-pointers, a jumper and a 4-of-4 performance at the line.

Class of 2015 Brewster Academy (N.H.) guard Donovan Mitchell has emerged this summer as a major recruiting target for Indiana and the 6-foot-3 guard has already announced that he plans to take an official visit to Bloomington this fall.
Mitchell, who is rated No. 83 nationally in the 247Composite, is in line for a significant bump when the rankings are updated next month after a fantastic summer to-date with The City, a New York based AAU program.

After a rough start to the Las Vegas NBA Summer League (an 0-of-13 performance against the Golden State Warriors), Charlotte Hornets rookie Noah Vonleh rebounded vs. the Sacramento Kings with 10 points and 18 boards. Against the New York Knicks on Monday, Vonleh chipped in 13 points and five boards in a loss, as the Hornets fell to 0-3.

Indiana coach Tom Crean met with the media on Tuesday afternoon at Assembly Hall for a lengthy offseason update.
