Indiana offers 2018 forward Brandon Johns

Brandon Johns, a class of 2018 forward from East Lansing (Mi.), was offered a scholarship by the IU coaching staff during an unofficial visit on Sunday.

The 6-foot-8 Johns is the No. 53 player in the country, according to the 247Composite.

Through 16 games this year on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit for Spiece Indy Heat, Johns is averaging 12.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals in 25 minutes per game.

Johns holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Creighton, Iowa, Memphis, Michigan, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Texas and Xavier, among others.

    Not sure about our chances of pulling a kid out of East Lansing, but he has a pretty good looking game, and we can use any big we can get in this class so i sure hope we can convince him!

    I’m assuming there is some Indiana connection if he is playing for the Indy Heat Gym Rats (that is an Indiana AAU team)

    Strong big-bodied 6-8 kid. Looks like he has some hops. Didn’t see anything in this highlight that would make him the #53 prospect but you have to assume there is more there.
