He mentioned Indiana first when asked about colleges. Good kid, great accent.

Watched a local sports show last night, where 4 Madison sports guys discussed the NBA draft.

They said the Bucks’ pick at #15, Giannis Antetokounmpo from Greece, has the potential to be an all-star. At 6’9, he might be the next Kevin Durant. Could end up being the best player from this draft, by far.

But they also said he needs time, maybe 3 years, to play, to get stronger, to learn USA basketball. They said he’s bound for the NBA development league, even after another year or two in the Greece system. He’s almost 19 right now.

This reminded me of Dante Exum. Outstanding talent. Possible future all-star. But he’s young, and learning more about basketball in the United States will help his career a lot. Will make him more money over his career.

Hope he does that at IU for a year. Going to college doesn’t mean he’s not NBA worthy. It just means he’s smart, and looks at the big picture.

Getting one and dones is great for the overall talent of the team, but it seems to completely remove academics from college. I can’t blame them if that’s the rules but I still feel you should pick a school and get more out of a school than just athletics. There needs to be more focus on education and the experience as a whole. This whole recruitment seems more focused on the court and ignores what college is really supposed to be about.

I see more of a young Kobe Bryant versus a Derrick Rose style of play.

Louis and IU seem to be fighting for the same recruits now. And lately, we’ve been losing that battle. Would be nice to win this one.

As I mentioned to Alex, Dante is playing himself right into the NBA draft no matter who is recruiting him. He would easily be a lottery pick….EASILY!

I honestly get the feeling of a 2 year college career for Dante, he could easily go draft first and skip college but I dont see it happening. He really seems to have a great head on his shoulders and knows what he needs to do to become a better player(cough go to IU cough cough).
