  • Dagwoods

    Very unselfish.

  • York538

Unselfish, good athleticism, and has a confident flair to his game. Will be a nice hooper when he gets to IU. Looks like he will be able to play the point better than VO, which is nice.

    Nice shoes

Wow! A bit of CC’s left handed, smooth, unhurried style. Great at rewarding the guys who get down the floor with him. A bit of attitude as well. He, Vic and Sheehey are going to have a ball together.

  • 888

Looks strong!Nice passer and yes very unselfish. He undersatnds that an assist is the same as scoring himself. If he can play the point we stole one. With his athleticism should be able to play D. Awsome to have him comein when Yogi needs a breather. Wow were gonna be good!!!

  • N71

Wow, nice video, nice player, nice shoes…you could read in the dark with those. If he can shoot well, which the video doesn’t really show, he’s really solid. I assume he can play defense otherwise he wouldn’t be coming to IU. He looks terrific.

  • VerdellJonesIV

You gotta love seeing that level of play and doing so very unselfishly. You can tell that he has been coached very well and has bought into the concept of basketball as a team sport. It’s always nice to see a someone rewarding their teammate for running the floor with him on the break. Very excited about StanDaMan.

  • MisterSlippery

I like him. I like his confidence on the drive. I also love the music in these videos. I wonder what that would look like set to that song “mm mm mm mm” by Crash Test Dummies…

  • BarryNC

Wow… Impressive talent. Clearly this is what jaquan Lyle probably won’t be a Hoosier. Let’s get Anya.

  • Kelin Blab

This kid can play. He seems to be in attack mode which I really really like.

Calvert will love this left handed shooter. Remind you of anyone in particular?

  • Jethro Troll

Very impressive. I love players with the ability to get to the rim and finish. Looks to be very versatile with alot of athletic ability. Very nice catch by Crean and staff.

Not trying to pick a fight here, and I understand CTC’s ability to develop players at an extremely high level…but saying “I assume he can play defense otherwise he wouldn’t be coming to IU” is a little premature statement to make about IU’s recruits…we were, don’t quote me, something like the 10th ranked defense in the Big Ten last year. Do you think that this is more because we are finally recruiting defensively or because CTC didn’t have the right “mold” of player to have a good defensive team? Personally, I don’t think we’ll ever be in the top 5 of overall defense(ppg) in the big ten with the fast/uptempo/guard oriented lineups we have. Again, not complaining about your assessment, just wondering if you think defense is above all the most important aspect of, as you say, an obligatory part of playing at IU?

  • N71

It’s part of the puzzle, you need to be able to play D already or have the build for it and a lunch pale mentality. Guys like Will, Victor, and Ron Patterson are athletic and long (for their size) and so is Stan. Yogi doesn’t fit the mold but who cares, he’s a rare talent that doesn’t come around but once a decade or even less frequent. Remy was an opportunity recruit who became available late and had “the build” to play defense. So yeah, I think its a requirement, part of the puzzle, but you need to be able to walk and chew gum as well (i.e. grades, good dude, etc.).

  • kpowers

    Sweet kicks for the ladies…

  • Jethro Troll

    Oladipo is not a PG.

  • marcusgresham

    Calbert, maybe?

  • HoosierTrav

Not so fast bud! Jaquan and Stanford have developed a close relationship this summer and i wouldn’t be totally surprised if we land him as well. As for Stan, He is really underrated by the scouting services. He is putting up very big numbers against some elite competition. He will be an instant contributor once he steps on campus.

I think he’s referring to how they’re both athletic guards, and Oladipo did handle the ball as a PG at times this season (i.e. getting the ball up the floor for Sheehey’s shot against VCU.)

  • smartybucket

And he still has a year left of high school. Wow. I like the way he uses his right hand too – looked like at least 2-3 shots were right handed (close range but I’ll take it). He’ll be amphibious by the time he gets to Bloomington:)

  • Evansville Hoosier

With all due respect, I think I’d rather he work on using his right hand than learn how to live in the local pond.

  • smartybucket

Yogi Berra – He bats well from both sides of the plate, he’s amphibious. It’s a joke, ok!

  • Evansville Hoosier

Ha I understood, I was joking as well.
