    Zeller

  • Hightower has been clowning IU for years, Why?

  • Absolutely embarassing officiating

  • That’s not Hightower.  It’s Ted Valentine.  Ted is much worse…

Tough game, but these kids can’t do the little things necessary to win these types of games yet. Whether it’s not grabbing defensive boards when we need them, Oladipo dribbling off of his leg, VJIII doing his vintage turnover machine act in the second half, Watford missing 2 key free throws, etc. etc.

Don’t get me started on the officiating…

  • Jeffdelp

Am I seeing this right, Wisconsin had 10 total fools…the whole freaking game???

    Addition by subtraction next year.

I know he had a good first half, but please lift up your head, pass the ball, and realize that the other team saw you make shots, too.

One more thing, when you have the lead with under 10 minutes left, stop shooting a contested jumper at the beginning of the shot clock!

Sometimes I wish CTC would sit him for a game, just to see what happens, good grief.

(I know it sounds like I’m blaming one player for the loss, and I know that isn’t the case, but he is our most consistent weakness on the team)

These refs were flat out terrible! If I was that bad at my job I woulda been fired years ago! Unacceptable!

  • Aceman_Mujezinovic_07

He played pretty well tonight but had one “bad VJ” moment that really hurt IU.  That was when he tried to force a shot over the 6’10” Bergren only to get blocked and lead to a fast break 3 by the Badgers.

That’s exactly what we all talk about when we talk about the nature of the mistakes.  It’s when they happen and the sheer stupidity of the plays that just causes you to shake your head and go, “What the **** was he thinking?”.

It’s not the first time I’ve seen him try to force a shot over a near 7 footer.  He did the same thing I think it was at Illinoying last year against Tisdale that led to a fast break three!

How does any basketball player with any basketball IQ make that decision?  I just don’t get it!

Other than that momentum killer, he actually played a pretty good game even when he wasn’t scoring.

    What has happened to Watford?

  • That was ridiculous.  Even the announcers were commenting.  The Watford offensive foul, Sheehey getting checked and hacked, and Zeller thrown to the floor all within a few minutes. HIGHTOWER TO THE THIRD POWER!!

I completely understand, but even when VJIII had his ridiculous 1st half, I was wondering at what point would this come back to haunt us.

As for Watford, I have no idea. It appears as if the shots he is most comfortable making are the most difficult makes possible. He definitely doesn’t have the confidence he had earlier in the year (*coughKensuckycough*)

  • Aceman_Mujezinovic_07

I’m with you man!  It was ridiculous . . . we never even got into the bonus!!!

They had to foul Zeller 2 or 3 times in one possession to get one call!

I could block Will Sheehey’s dunk attempt if I was allowed to hold his hip and hold him down on the ground too!  Come on!  Really?  Will can posterize Basabe but can’t dunk on freaking white boy Brew”suckitz”?  Why?  Because he was fighting this thing called “created gravity”.  Someone was pulling him back to earth at a fast rate than 9.08 meters per second squared!

Ridiculous.  If the B1G doesn’t fix the officiating, they’ll take a dive in national relevance and become the laughing stock of college basketball!

The negative: We lost to the refs.

The good: IU wins by double digits on a neutral court.

The really good: IU played strong D and forced Wisc to shoot under 40% and under 30% from three!

Proud of their hard work…I just hate losing that way.

Also, why did the refs overturn that out-of-bounds call? Clearly Evans knocked it out of Elston’s hands! Oh yeah I know why…Refs SUCKED tonight.

  • Myrtle Beach Hoosier

I can’t believe how many home town calls were and weren’t made throughout that game!!!! Worst Game I have seen in a while!!! And I coach High School Ball in South Carolina… That’s truly saying something!

Couldn’t agree more. The officiating makes me want to vomit. We played very well.We were tough defensively.I don’t know how the players stand it.They played their hearts out but could not get a break on the calls.Yes watford missed free throws.did you notice they tried to take him to the hole all night.and he stood his ground, his man could not get by !Watford and the whole team was tired at the end,no wonder they couldn’t get those key rebounds.Playing D for 35 seconds every possession is tiring. We deserved to win, just couldn’t get a call.I would quit watching BB if the games were officiated like this very often!

    ted valentine, what a JOKE!!!

Sorry, was crean holding Zeller for overtime?????

  • Frank

May I ask it yet? Did Tom Crean play college basketball? If yes where?

  • Anonymous

For some reason I have a constant whistling in my ear.  19 to 10 at the line?  I can remember at least 5 times where Hoosiers D made a good stop only to have a touch foul called with 4-5 seconds remaining on the shot clock.  We missed numerous opportunities, but Valentine managed that game.

Can someone tell me who decides what post get through and which do not?

  • Laueb

Sad that the big ten officating has come to this, truly 5 on 7 game tonight. Just really sad..

  • Man, I agree for the most part but would a few paragraph breaks kill you?

I’ve had 2200 comments and 1100 likes . . . and I support this site and visit multiple times a day.  Would somebody please explain to me why my comment ripping the officiating was removed when I didn’t swear, call anyone names, or speak belligerently?

Are we being held to the same media driven standard that coaches and players are being held to when speaking about officials.  I jokingly said I couldn’t wait for Hightower and Valentine to kick the bucket but I reiterated the fact that I was exaggerating and joking in the next sentence!

Someone please email me or let me know here why you felt the need to remove the comment!

Am interested in hearing the reasoning behind that one myself. If you get an explanation sent to you instead of it being posted on here please reply back and ask if you can summarize why your comment was removed as I’m sure I’m not the only one that is curious.

  • If you have a question, email me. I’ve reviewed the comments you’re referencing and agree with the decision to remove them.

  • Aceman_Mujezinovic_07

Shoot me your email or email me at nickmryan07@yahoo.com the reasoning.  I’d be interested to hear why.  I wasn’t drinking so I know I didn’t say anything I don’t remember.  The worst things I said were “Watford sucked” and he sure did in the second half and at the FT line and that “I couldn’t wait for EH and TV to kick the bucket”.  I’m pretty sure anyone could figure out I was joking, especially when I said the was a bit of a stretch immediately after that sentence!
