Video: Trevon Bluiett Highlights at Best of the Midwest

Recruiting interest is on the rise for Park Tudor’s Trevon Bluiett as Arizona is now the latest school to express interest in the 2014 forward. Bluiett, who is playing AAU with Spiece Indy Heat, already holds offers from Indiana and Virginia and is being looked at by Butler, Florida, Florida State, Marquette, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon State, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia Tech.

Inside the Hall was in attendance at last week’s Best of the Midwest in Indianapolis and we’ve compiled over two minutes of Bluiett video which is available in the embedded media player below. (Note: You can expand the video to full screen by using the arrows in the bottom right hand corner of the player.)

Have seen Trevon play many times over the past 3 years.  He is definitely a differently player since the end of the high school season.  CTC needs to give him the Gary Harris treatment.

This kid can flat out play.I can see him being the best player in the state for 2014.
He would look great in candy-stripes

Agree with Diesel in that he looks a lot different than he did at Park Tudor.  Much more aggressive.  The only thing I worry about is his athleticism.  I’ve yet to see anything from him that leads me to believe he can even dunk.

#1 thing to me – he plays with a real confidence.  Hard to describe other than by saying that when he drives he just looks like he knows he’s going to score.  Great to see in a younger player (and reminds me of Blackmon).

Hopefully Yogi can help get him to IU.

I agee.  If I am worried about anything with him it is that.

Two words: Paul Pierce. Obviously not as good yet. Both are lethal scorers, not the most athletic but know how to put the ball in the hole.

I agree that he has a confidence on the court that IU hasn’t seen in awhile. If I want to win a game, trevon is a kid I want on my team. HE’S A MUST GET

Trevon reminds me of a 6’5″ Jordy Hulls. Can you inagine how good Hulls would be getting off his shot at 6’5″.

No offense to Ernie Duncan, but Jaquan Lyle is a much better prospect. He’s much younger and way more versatile.

Paul Pierce went against Vince Carter in the McDonald’s All-American Dunk Contest

  • Kelin Blab

He is the kid that will be on a championship in the ncaa, that won’t lead the team in scoring but will be the guy who beats you every single time! Just a winner, knows how to play the game, and you put him out there and let him play.

I could careless about those who question his athletic ability. Winning is an ability.

  • 323SGrant

Duncan is good, but Lyle’s a better overall player.

  • Brklynhoosier

Um, I like what I see but… better than Lyles?  I don’t think so.

haha valid point. I meant trevon’s game is similar to pierce’s NBA game. Sometimes when u watch pierce play u wonder how he scores. he looks a bit awkward, never in balance, not the smoothest handles but a jumper he can rely on.

To me trevon has those same characteristics. You watch him play and can’t point to  one particular way he scores. But before u know it he’s dropped 28 on you

    “Winning is an ability.”
Am I smelling another name change in the works?  Kelin Sheen, perhaps?

Woah.  I hadn’t paid close attention since the season ended, but I didn’t realize his name had gotten back down to Kelin Blab.  Can we take bets on the next name to enter his screenname?  Maybe Kelin BeeJayAnyaLab?

General comment – Alex – I love that we get to see video of the kids on our radar, but would like to see some of their work on the defensive end as well.  Not as sexy, but at least half of the game.

I think Pierce is a nice comparison.  Pierce is not that athletic, although he plays at what 6’7″ or more?  I don’t think Trevon is that tall yet?  Either way the kid knows how to use his body and seems relentless.  Nice looking jumper (may be a little low of a release point for the next level?)  Looks like a winner and just played strong.
