Live Ticker and Open Thread: Yogi Ferrell announcement

We won’t be chatting live during tonight’s announcement, but we have set up the live ticker below in which you’ll be able to follow our tweets from Park Tudor. For discussion purposes, this thread will be open, as well:

    It’s got to be Cody Zeller, as he is the one most responsible for this blessed occasion, though Hanner Perea is likely best suited for it.

    I’m not even nervous about this decision. Once zeller committed, Yogi changed his decision date by about 4-5 months sooner. His dad keeps talking about IU. He’s been at far more IU events than anybody else. He’s coming to Indiana.

    Next up: Gary Harris.

    Land him.. and you’re talking about one of the best, if not THE best classes to ever come to Indiana for 2012.

    Announcement expected at 630p. Park Tudor plays at 730p. I was going to head up there and watch the game but not a big fan of driving 3 hours in this weather at night.

    I’m planning on making a relatively short drive to Lebanon where Austin Etherington’s Hamilton Heights team is playing tonight, but this weather bites. I’ll probably go anyway, though.

    I’ll check the site on my phone for the official Yogi news.

    Good article from ESPN on the importance of home visits in recruiting focusing on Cody’s recruitment. Yes, I did use “good article” and “ESPN” in the same sentence. I guess because it was written by Dave Telep.

    Exactly. I’m actually driving from Lafayette, LOL. But, I’d never compare Lebanon to my hometown of Lafayette! You aren’t the only IU fan in Tippecanoe County on this site, ha.

    I remember making that discovery a month back (or so), but I couldn’t remember who it was (and you have the same/similar avatar picture to eph521, so I didn’t actually look at the name — D’oh!). Cheers! Carry on the good fight after I leave next year.

    Yogi should take the mic tonight, wait for total silence to fill the gym and simply say…….”It’s Indiana”…..then bask in the roar of the crowd.

    From that moment on, every recruit should do it the same way. Just say “It’s Indiana”, smile and put on an IU hat. The phrase would become iconic!!!
