Report: Beas Hamga will not be a Hoosier

by Alex Bozich in Recruiting | January 5th, 2009

Beas Hamga, the transfer from UNLV who was rumored to be considering Indiana, will not be a Hoosier according to our friend John Decker of Hoosier Nation.

Hamga originally committed to Iowa when Steve Alford was the coach and ended up signing with UNLV. He left the Runnin’ Rebels after logging just 26 minutes this season.

Don't know what to think. According to Rivals he was a 5 star. According to UNLV he was a project that couldn't even manage to get decent minutes. Someone help me out here.

Just another Eric Boateng type guy i guess. I really don't know much about him. It's a head-scratcher for sure

I think Rivals must be mistaken.....

Fellas Beas will be a good player in 3 years but in that time Bawa will be ready and will be a big force along with Bobby Cap, because Beas has talent but he is a late bloomer and he would be a waste of a scholarship for two year on the bench and a year of stardom....we will have a team that would have go to player by then in Jones Elston Cap Creek Watford and Jordan Hulls

Just read somewhere today Bawa pulled a goose egg in his game and was very ineffective......we have to get decent post players soon....

did you hear me i said that it will take time with Bawa but it will payoff he will be a good 4 year player when he develops in his Jr year

No big loss here, move on to someone better.
  • pacino
Im not counting on Bawa. I hope that Capo will develop right away. Along with Elston.

Capo will be a good player but dont count on him his freshman year cause he just another Pritchard type player that has less experience...but Elston is a really intriguing player i think he will come in and be 8 and 6 kind of a guy and maybe the starting spot because he versatility...pacino you hit the hammer right on the nail, cause i dont really plan on Bawa playing much his freshman year but he probably will get red shirted and then be a prominent player his junior year...just like Othello Hunter last year for the buckeyes, but you never know
