Bloomington South’s Jordan Hulls chooses Indiana

According to our good friend Chris Korman of the H-T/Hoosier Scoop, Bloomington South 2009 point guard Jordan Hulls has committed to Indiana. Hulls was also considering Purdue, Duke, Stanford and a host of smaller schools.

Scout.com recently ranked Hulls the 13th best point guard prospect in the 2009 class. His addition brings IU to 12 scholarship players for the 2009-2010 season.

I like this guy. Like I said he reminds me of a poor man's Steve Nash. I think he will be a lot better than paulus, because this kid knows how to pass. He's also not afraid to drive into the paint. The only thing I'm worried about is that with all these guards it wouldn't surprise if one or two of them would leave for more playing time. Does anybody agree with me?

  • Just for a point of reference, here is a look at the scholarship numbers for 2009-2010. Not sure how this will all shake out if the NCAA decides to take another grant, but hopefully it would just be for the 2008-2009 season and IU could return to 13 for 2009-2010:

2010 – Devan Dumes, Tijan Jobe
2011 – Brandon McGee, Jordan Crawford
2012 – Matt Roth, Tom Pritchard, Nick Williams, Verdell Jones
2013 – Derek Elston, Bobby Capobianco, Maurice Creek, Jordan Hulls

This is what I think CTC is doing, I think he knows next season is expendable. So what I think he is going to do is get as many guards as possible into the system and have his pick of the litter as far as who he likes in his system, and in 2010 really recruite some bigs to play with the soph and jr guards he has groomed for a couple of years in his program. I really think right now he is getting as many guards as possible in here to let the cream rise to the top and really go for a big years in 2010 and after. By then his program should be good to go!

Good pick up, but with signing the big guy, are we done now? We now have 9 scholarship players for this season and 4 more coming next year. That equals 13. Subtract Taber after next season and I suppose we have room for one more. Where does that leave us if we pick up Sutton or Negedu for this season? No chance at Van Treese or others. I'm not so sure the Jobe pickup was a good one from a scholarship number point of view, unless TC already knows Negedu and Sutton aren't coming. The longer the Sutton thing goes on, I think the chances of us landing him are diminishing. I guess I just wait and see. Maybe someone else is leaving? Maybe grades will determine that? Welcome Jordan!!

I know Jobe is big and is only here for 2 years but do we really need him taking up a scholarship? We are done now? Maybe have one more. Can we use the 13th before (if) the NCAA takes it away? Is SVT the last kid we want?

How can this day get any better……..
    1. Indy gets a superbowl in 2012
    2. IU gets a big man
    3. Negedu gets out of his LOI and names IU on the list
    4. Another Jordan and Indiana kid signs with IU
    5. MMMM could the pacers get the 5th pick and take EJ???? we will find out shortly
    6. Could Negedu committ tomorrow…???? That would be Sweet

  • Go Crean and Crimson!!!!

  • #5: We shut off Dish so don't have TV for the summer; a little behind in all the sports goings other than ITH. When is the NBA “picking” day?
#6: That would be totally sweet!

  • Pacers got the 11th pick. Milwaukee got No. 8 and the Bulls won the lottery.

  • Check this picture out! http://blogs.heraldtimesonline.com/iusp/?p=2040 Maybe this is what helped the decision a little.(:

  • no word on Negedu?

  • If we get Negedu….I say give the last one to Sutton if he wants it….then when Jobe leaves get the best center in the country if we can….Sutton will be a Junior and less of a project

Just read the guy who recruited Negedu to Zona is at Memphis….but they did mention in the same article he was teammates with Matt “freakin'” Roth on IE

  • so there will be no word tonight

We also offered a scholie to Jeremiah Davis ( class 2011). He's of course another point guard. Apprently Kentucky already offered. Man coach is really going at it.

  • He is the man……I think we really have a guy who is going to get us on top and keep us there
