Film Session: Purdue
This next one was probably Johnson’s most impressive of the day. After Johnson moves Parker Stewart out of the left corner to create more space, Eric Hunter Jr. ices to keep Johnson out of the middle and try and force him sideline and away from the ball screen.
But Johnson passes to Jackson-Davis and gets the ball right back. Jackson-Davis then sets the ball screen for Johnson. Johnson rejects it and drives left. Hunter Jr. and Williams then double team Johnson. But he’s still able to get the ball to Jackson-Davis, who again doesn’t have any issues scoring over Gillis for an and-1.
Purdue played pretty good ball screen defense on this one, icing initially and then getting Johnson into a double team. But he was able to still get Indiana a bucket.
