Film Session: Purdue
With Michael Durr now the high ball screener, the rest of Indiana’s offense is spaced wide on the perimeter. Gillis stays in tighter off Thompson to help on Johnson’s drive. At other times in the game, Thompson was left open beyond the 3-point line on the left side, but he never made one from deep all night.
This time around, though, he’s got room to cut to the basket behind Gillis. Johnson finds him on that cut and Johnson is able to get Gillis up in the air, move around him and slam it home.
With Purdue trailing by just two, this was a nice spread set from the Hoosiers to get some points back on the board.
