Film Session: Rutgers
After the Mulcahy 3-pointer, Indiana bleeds some shot clock before Thompson finds Galloway on the right side. Mulcahy moves out to Galloway:
Thompson moves to set a side ball screen for Galloway. Omoruyi hangs back, giving Galloway some space:
Omoruyi moves even further back and Mulcahy makes no effort to fight through the screen to Galloway. Rutgers effectively dares Galloway to shoot here. He does. He misses:
Franklin grabs the long rebound:
But misses the wide-open 15-footer:
Galloway showed toughness this season. He had a good feel for the game as a freshman, allowing him the most trust from Miller along with the most minutes in his class. We featured his offensive game in the first Film Session of the season. But as the season went along, Galloway’s confidence on offense diminished. His drives became risky, jumping up in the air to pass instead of shoot. And his 3-point shooting was not good. He made just 6-of-33 (18.2 percent) on the season. It’s no wonder Rutgers dared him to shoot here.
