Film Session: Butler
As Nze passes to Myles Wilmoth coming out of the left corner, Franklin calls out for Phinisee to switch men on the weak side:
Phinisee and Franklin stay home on the switch. As Wilmoth gets the screen from Nze, Coles pops out to the top of the key:
Coles gets the pass as Phinisee and Franklin have switched:
As Coles looks right, Franklin and Phinisee are switching once again. Chuck Harris cuts off the left wing to the paint and Franklin moves to him, as Phinsee looks to ward off the pass to Tate, who’s moving up from the right corner:
With Franklin on Harris, Coles makes the pass to Tate. But Phinisee continues to keep a hand up in the passing lane and he gets a hand on the ball:
He corrals it:
And takes it down the court himself with Coles chasing:
Coles and Phinisee meet at the rim and there’s a foul call. Phinisee would hit one of two at the line to put Indiana up 11:
While Phinisee has been a bit quiet on the offensive end, his defense has been a big reason why the Hoosiers are at an elite level so far this season on that side of the ball. Great work and communication from Franklin and Phinisee on this one.
