Later in the first half with the Hoosiers now down five, we see a near identical setup. Johnson goes for the weave pass to Blackmon Jr. on the right wing:

Russell comes in again to disrupt. Though he doesn’t get a hand on the ball, it panics Blackmon Jr. and he comes up to meet a bounce pass too close. It hits off his leg and heads back towards half court:

While it looks like Kam Williams may have gotten a hand on the ball, it’s ruled a backcourt violation on the Hoosiers.

Indiana’s guards aren’t used to these dribble handoffs being played with the opponent going over the top instead of under and it allowed the Buckeyes to turn the Hoosiers over.
