Blackmon Jr. gets into the paint and has drawn Collin Hartman’s defender down there. Hartman is wide open in the corner:

But Blackmon Jr. opts for the heavily contest 2-pointer with Hartman still hanging out open:

Blackmon Jr. is able to rebound his miss:

But he’s blocked on his second attempt:

A poor decision here from Blackmon Jr., even on a night the Hoosiers struggled from distance.

Your right…a defensive clinic. Frankly i don’t think this Hoosier team would have a clue how to defend with such technique and precision. Outstanding job by the Sparties.

What I kept thinking… and have been thinking since last year… and thought I finally saw answered in the Nebraska game.. is: why on earth aren’t we even looking to pass to the roll man on these hedged screens. Especially considering Emmit/Hanner have both been great finishers at the rim so far this year…

Then again, I’m thinking that our guards might have just been shellshocked by the aggressiveness of the MSU hedge. Certainly had that look in their eyes. March 7th — unless the entire season goes up in flames, I’m looking fw to the rematch…

Absolutely ridiculous that we kept trying for the same look when they were hedging out so far on these high ball screens. Whoever was setting the high screen had 5 square miles of space to roll but we weren’t even looking for that. Our offense can’t be so one dimensional like this. Every action by the defense should have a REACTION by the offense other than complete and utter surprise.

Also, I completely expected the Branden Dawson/Troy Williams matchup to be entertaining and really highlight this game. Totally didn’t expect to see Troy crawl into a hole while Dawson pushed a rock in front of it.

  • Blair McKee

Since when does IU make adjustments in game? That would require more coaching than we’re gonna get.

  • SCHoosier

Didn’t like last game (non) adjustments..but TC made some good ones at NEB

  • Michael

Yes because you know what is said during huddles. What is coached and what is performed are two very different things.

  • Blair McKee

    true. true.

EH got HACKED on that “strip.” When I was growing up, if you hit the guy in the chest and both arms on the way to the hole, they called that a foul. Am I missing some new rules for the BIG?

I’ve also asked this. Other have claimed we have been looking, but I haven’t seen it. I’d love to see the immediate pass once the screen has been slipped.
