Christ Presbyterian Academy (Tenn.) wing Braxton Blackwell is one of Indiana’s top targets in the class of 2016 and was one of the standouts at the adidas Gauntlet last month in Dallas. Blackwell averaged 12.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game as the Atlanta Celtics finished 5-0.
As a sophomore at C.P.A., Blackwell won Tennessee’s Class AA Mr. Basketball award while averaging 19.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 2.7 steals per game.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Class of 2014 Marion (Ind.) guard James Blackmon Jr. is the fourth McDonald’s All-American to sign with Indiana under Tom Crean and he is expected to bring much needed perimeter shooting to Bloomington next season.
On Friday night at the Hensley Memorial Run-N-Slam at the Spiece Fieldhouse, Blackmon Jr. was in attendance to watch his younger brother, Vijay, and he sat down with Inside the Hall to talk about his recent experiences at the McDonald’s All-American game and Jordan Brand Classic, his future at Indiana and much more.
Indiana picked up a surprise commitment on Saturday when Richland Hills (Tex.) forward Tim Priller joined the 2014 recruiting class.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Former Indiana assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Kenny Johnson was introduced as a member of Rick Pitino’s coaching staff at the University of Louisville on Wednesday afternoon.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Future Indiana teammates Max Hoetzel and Robert Johnson were teammates in Friday’s 2014 Derby Festival Basketball Classic at Freedom Hall, falling 128-104 to a team featuring three University of Florida and three University of Louisville signees.
Hoetzel, who won the 3-point shootout at halftime, finished with 10 points and three rebounds and Johnson, who finished with 10 points, five rebounds and two assists, was named the game’s “fan-favorite” based on text message voting by the 5,518 fans in attendance.
