I’ve went to Hoosier Hysteria like 15 times in my 22 years of life. I didn’t get to go last year but went the year before… I felt like something wasn’t right… like each year it is getting less and less exciting. I feel it isn’t the show it NEEDS to be. I know I’ll get beheaded because of this…. but compared to UK’s midnight madness.. we just about don’t have one. I think ours can be 100 better. Make it more exciting for the fans. Make it the show it should be.

Haven’t been, but I’ve seen the videos over the years, and heard that same dialogue. But even with my “long distance” observations, I would tend to agree. Not a lot of flash, not a big light show, not a lot of modern showtime type entertainment.

But then again, it seems to bring one heck of a crowd and I’m sure the noise level is still there!

I was there, and I think it’s more classy the way it is. Admission is free, so the university is not making money from the event. I would rather the school use its resources wisely and on substantive activities than inflate this event to spectacular proportions. I took my 6-year-old, and he loved it, except when the scrimmage started. He said it was even more boring than watching the team on TV, lol. I disagreed of course. Classy fans, classy atmosphere.

Don’t encourage our players to put on a fancy show! As it is, Thomas fell flat on the floor trying one of his dunks! The excitement I’m looking for is the one in March!

Like I said, I’ve never been, so any observations of mine should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt. But this event is what it is, a media event to showcase the team, get fan excitement started, and (importantly) used to showcase the team and Assembly Hall to potential recruits. IU may not make money on the event, but the goodwill value is probably way up there.

Don’t really have a dog in this fight, just seems like there could be a little bit more showmanship going on to match that great crowd and energy. Not saying turn it into a UK #2 site. LOL

They should be able to put on a show. Some of them have the character to where they can do whatever in front of 15k. It is am Eben that should be incredibly entertaining for the fans and nothing but fun for the players.
