Video: Victor Oladipo sings duet with Regis Philbin

If you’ve followed Victor Oladipo’s career, you already know he’s capable of breaking out in song at a moment’s notice.

There were multiple Hoosier Hysteria performances, performances at the IU Auditorium and talk from his Hoosier teammates about how often Oladipo likes to sing.

So with that said, the following clip of Oladipo singing with Regis Philbin on Crowd Goes Wild on Fox Sports 1 should come as no surprise. It’s Oladipo once again impressing us all with his vocal talents in a duet cover of “Ain’t No Sunshine.” (This, of course, isn’t Victor’s first experience with this classic.)

I love that man…congrats to Victor on all his success thus far. I have no doubt he will end up turning the Magic into a pretty solid team. Not this year but as long as they use him as an example of what to do, they’ll end up being alright.

  • Oldfan

What a shameful display. Even after graduation Oladipo continues to shame IU with his embarrassing off the court antics. Why can’t IU recruit players with good moral character like North Carolina does. Someone like P.J. Hairston or Leslie McDonald.

  • N71

    Vic = awesome.

  • SCHoosier

Vic is great..and his own “PR Machine”..a media favorite and probably a recording star when he finishes his hoops career. At IU Vic said his mom and two sisters ran interference for his “social life”..meaning they checked out any of the ladies he might be involved with. If he keeps this up..being a pro and $ll…that probably will become a full time job for somebody!:)

  • rbhagwat

I think I’ll file this under “Dumb Comments.”

  • PHaluska

Ewwww Regis…Should have been a Vic solo. What a positive example for IU. More like him, please…

  • Ole Man

I think he was being either satirical or facetious.

  • Candy Striped Kid

lol man. try reading more than the first sentence.. smh

  • rbhagwat

yup, I clearly missed that haha. whoops!

  • ForeverIU

See? What would we do without our literary sensibilities? We’d have a lot more enemies. LOL.

  • MillaRed

Can imagine what this kid would be doing in an IU uniform right now?

Have you ever seen a grown man cry?

There just isn’t anything to dislike.

  • Mike G

Vic continues to be a man among boys. Will play in the NBA for 10 years, make multiple all-star appearances, then sign with a rejuvenated Motown Records, have 40 top ten hits, win several Grammies, oh and wait, win several Oscars after Hollywood grabs him. He’ll then come back home to us in Maryland and run and win the Governorship.

  • 323 S. Grant

Nice young man and great IU representative!

  • Earl Scheib

I’m always amazed at how little people get humorous posts on this site. Lighten up … I know we’re all amped up about that drubbing from ‘Cuse but some more levity around here would do all us all good. Funny post C & C!

  • Ole Man

I have found, from my own mistakes, that satire just doesn’t translate over the net sometimes.
Maybe we could get Alex to add a “sound effects” button? That might help. LOL.

  • BMusic

    All this and triple-doubles, too.

  • Hoosier Hall

Did anyone see where he and MCW of the 76r’s went head to head and got a triple double each? Oladipo may very well end up being one of the top few Hoosiers to ever play in the NBA.

  • Earl Scheib

Pretty much Ole Man. That’s why I exercise the liberal use of exclamation points in most of my comminuques, lest people think I’m being a cranky acerbic curmudgeon!

  • ForeverIU

And so are the down arrows from wily NC trolls who got the humor or IU puritans who didn’t?

  • PHaluska

Incredible, record setting game. I think they both will have long NBA careers.

  • Hoosierfan2335

He is exactly the young type of star the NBA needs and loves to see. The league is definitely on the rise overall.

  • PV Mike

For those old enough to remember, former IU player Andrae Patterson was also a very good singer in a Texas gospel group.

  • IUMIKE1

All funny over the top stuff……if it wasn’t Victor Oladipo…..and it being about him is what makes it all very possible. I swear it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if he done all that and more.

  • IUMIKE1

The drum rim shot would have to be one of them. I’m sure it would be used in replies to some of my comments but that’s alright. LOL

  • Ole Man

Hey, I like those last three words. Can I put them in my profile???? LOL!

  • Ole Man

Talk about enemies. Did you notice I even got a down marker for my explanation.
Think I’ll start wearing those as a “badge of honor”, similar to the Scarlet Letter. LOL.

  • IUMIKE1

If there was ever a young man that deserved all the good that has happened and will happen to him, it’s this young man. If the powers that be at IU had sat down and had someone draw up what they were describing as the ideal person to go out and represent the university, once they had finished their description and the artist turned his sketch pad around, they would find a sketch of Victor on that pad, and no one that knows him would be surprised.

Best of Luck to you Vic in everything you do and thanks again for choosing IU.

  • ForeverIU

I know, I noticed that. I almost wanna start giving myself those down arrows just to exorcise that demon! LOL. Congratulations soldier!

  • chris

I was thinking the other week (I think after seeing Shaq on an Icy Hot commercial)-that if there’s a guy in the NBA who could actually put a record out-it would be VIC-prolly will now that he got this kind of pub. MCW on the other hand was probably still in an ice bath after his triple double.

  • chris

must have been wild to be in the stands for that one

  • Jmac

I have been watching IU basketball for many years and Vic is my all time favorite!

  • marcusgresham

Wayman Tisdale did OK, but I don’t remember if he actually sang.
