Updated: Indiana players will not participate in Knox Indy Pro Am

Update: While listed on the rosters released today, the six IU players listed below will not be participating in the Knox Indy Pro Am.

“Because of our workout schedule this summer no players from IU will participate this summer,” an IU spokesperson told Inside the Hall. “Our guys enjoyed the experience last year and it’s something we will evaluate each year.”

The rosters for the 2012 Knox Indy Pro Am were released Tuesday and six members of the 2012-2013 Indiana Hoosiers are listed among the participants.

Victor Oladipo and Christian Watford are listed on the Red roster along with New Orleans Hornet and former IU guard Eric Gordon.

Incoming freshmen Yogi Ferrell and Jeremy Hollowell are listed on the Green roster, which also lists Mario Chalmers of the Miami Heat.

Will Sheehey and Jordan Hulls are listed on the Purple roster along with former Purdue standouts E’Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson.

Former IU forward and Charlotte Bobcat D.J. White will play for the Royal Blue roster along with former IU guard Roderick Wilmont.

Rosters for the Knox Indy Pro Am are available here. A schedule will be released at a later date.

Glad these guys are participating. I think it helped them all a lot last year.

Did anyone look at that roster? Since when does Bonzi Wells play for the “New York Nicks.”

Red team is going to dominate with Hill and Gordon.

This thing is becoming unreal. Kudos to Carlos for continuing to push this thing each year and build on it. He’s doing big things.

Anything with Eric Gordon and DJ White getting involved with our current team is a positive. I love it! That red team is stacked.

I kind of wish Yogi was with DJ White so he could get used to playing with a dominant big man.

I’m looking forward to the video updates from this thing like we saw last year. Love the coverage on this.

It looks like a Hoosier favorite, Tijan Jobe, will also be participating

I was wondering the same thing. Bonzi was ridiculous back in the day, but I have a feeling he will loaf down the floor in these games and put up about 24 shots a game.

Lot of good players on these rosters.

I really like the idea of Yogi getting to play with Mario Chalmers and Victor getting to play with Eric Gordon. This is a great experience for our players to learn and compete with some of the best players in the U.S.

I have to say though, the red team, with Eric Gordon, George Hill, Victor, and Watford looks like a pretty tough team. I can’t say I’m familiar with the European players though.

Important note: The rosters released by the Knox Indy Pro Am and referenced below may not be accurate with regards to IU players participating. We’re working on getting more information.

Ok..what is this tournament.??.with coaches able to work with players this summer..why would the IU guys risk injury in this type play if they could develop as a team? I know some of the guys did it last year…but thought maybe the NCAA rule change on coaching during the summer might keep out guys at Cook Hall?

  • http://www.insidethehall.com/ Alex Bozich

They are not playing. The rosters released by the Knox Indy Pro Am were not accurate.

  • http://twitter.com/RatKingCole RatKingSports

So the IU players actually aren’t going to play?

oh, should have reloaded the page before I posted. Thanks.

I’m glad so many people actually read the comments and the article, since IU guys are NOT PARTICIPATING in this.

I don’t agree with not letting them play. They will make more fans by getting more exposure. They may be able to influence some other potential recruits by playing with or against them .. or perhaps some will be watching. There will be plenty of time for real practice -competition is good.

Wouldn’t the “Bloomington Nicks” make more sense?! Don’t know if it’s me but I’ve never heard of the “New York Nicks.”
