Video: Trevon Bluiett in win over Covenant Christian

Class of 2014 wing Trevon Bluiett and Park Tudor notched a comfortable 75-42 win over Covenant Christian on Saturday night.

The 6-foot-5 sophomore, who picked up an offer from Indiana prior to the start of his freshman season, led all scorers with 15 points and helped the Panthers pick up their fifth win of the season.

Inside the Hall was in attendance and we’ve compiled over two minutes of video highlights of the highly regarded sophomore in the embedded media player below:

    Reminds me of Oscar Robertson.

He’s good! Getting both him and Yogi would be great.

We should probably start our comparisons at a little lower level.. Don’t want to put to much pressure on this KID.

  • grizzly

Really seems undervalued. This kid can shoot.

Looks to have a body type that shows he is done growing.  I will give him 6’4″.  I like his stroke, but wonder how he will continue to improve and really develop.  Could be a great catch and shoot guy, but do not see him doing any slashing or penetrating which is what we need at IU.

Torn on Blueitt, as ultimately the boards seem to be.  His athleticism and size are question marks, but dang does the guy seem to know where to be.  His positioning and game sense seem to be very good, and his knack for scoring are excellent.  But can he stay on the floor for a top B1G program or play in front of who the Hoosiers would also have?

I saw him in person over the summer and to me he looked like he could still grow.  I’m guessing 6’6″ to 6’8″ is a possibility.  He also look to have the body to put on a lot more weight and muscle.

I tend to agree more with you.  Not a high level athlete.  Good shooter, not great.  Won’t be able to play inside at next level.  I am not sold that he would be a key contributor at Indiana.  I could be wrong, but his game would need to improve all the way around and he would need to get quicker.

What is with Yogi in this game?  I saw he only scored 5 points.  He doesn’t seem to be running the show much in this video.  Others are handling the ball up front and what I did see was not what I normally see (push the ball up and agressive).  Was he sick or just not needed because the competition was weak?

I know a guy named Robert Oscarson that plays at the Y and can shoot.  He’s not in high school though I don’t think.

In the video of interviews, they both said that Yogi tried to let other guys get more involved in this one because the game wasn’t going to be all that competitive.  I would be more concerned if it was a close game, and he wasn’t that involved.

Hoosier Hawz, I am not seeing it.  He already looks like he is filling out and I am guessing as most players do, he has an inch added to his heighth so he is truly 6’4″.

No way this kid reached 6’8″ and would be a big stretch if he gets to 6’6″ as well.  At his size he needs to be very sound with his handle and be able to run the floor and offense if necessary.

In his class I would like to see either a a scoring slasher or beast ceneter to mix up with Lyles and Blackmon and an absolute stud SG in Lyle.

Agreed, I like Trevon’s game and I believe he will develop into a good player, but I don’t believe, especially for his class, that he is the caliber – from a talent/skill perspective – type of player that we need.

I agree with you Stonaroni, in that we should be going after Lyle and a big body center like Cliff Alexandar for 2014. That class would be sick if we had those two with Blackmon and Lyles.

    Go Hoosiers…

I did not like the video. I saw a shot easily blocked in college ( a problem I noted years ago w  Roth ) and no left hand when he needed it. He needs tons of work IMHO and based only on this video.

In his interview I liked him alot .
