No one with a GPA under 2.9! That's great. The on-court results may be coming slowly but I, for one, couldn't be more pleased with how far we have come from the prior regime off the court in such a short time.

“You can't get him out of the door fast enough”…….Nice.

Coach Ro must have really really did something bad for Crean to take that shot at him….Good thing DSR isn't going there, that would have been the end of his recruitment to IU.

Usually people just put these things behind them and try not to burn bridges. The fact that this is not happening here speaks volumes about how upset Crean was then (Irvinig), and continues to be (DSR). Ro is just purposely working against Crean and is going out of his way to do so.

I agree 100% and don't think it is over. I fully expect Coach Ro to continue to do this and completely ruin his coaching chances at the next level completely. He has to know coaches talk and it is a tight fraternity.

First off this is my first post on any blog site, but I read and love ITH and ALL the comments. I only wish I had a big like Tom Prichard to set a bone crushing ball screen for me when I was playing!

Making my home in Lansing, MI there has been a ton of talk that if Izzo bolted, Crean is their man. I have many friends who are as die hard msu fans as I am IU. Every single one of them said Crean is the only Izzo “tree” guy they could see getting the job. I was interested to see if Crean would consider stepping into a National Champion contender. Also, we as fans could see Crean's loyalty to IU after 2 tough years. His answer was great, and exactly what i was hoping for. I am glad we got the right guy finally. Now he just needs to land some studs. (patterson, perea, so on)

IUhoosier02….first welcome and continue to post with us…ITH is addictive.

I am glad Crean got out in front of this as it could have snowballed on him if he didn't. I hope IU fans can see what we have in Crean as the face of this program, just as Izzo was for MSU. I truly believe where we are now is where we would be if we had hired anyone else or possibly worse.

He better hope Krzyzewski puts in a good word for him because I don't think his time with Crean is going to be included on his resume'.

I'd almost like to see Ro get a head coaching job at some 2nd-rate D-I school, run into IU in a tournament and see how many points Crean would decide to put on him.

Welcome IUhoosier02. This is the best site on the web for IU basketball by far. I've been a reader since the begining. I don't post much but read every comment every day. I for one was very pleased to hear Coach state that IU is the place to be. WE will be back.

I thought I would bring up the past for a moment just because I'm an IU nut. It's 2:00am and I'm watching a game from 2003 IU vs Iowa 50 to 40 IU. It's funny watching the game without the big heads behind the baskets. Coverdale, Bracy Wright, Coverdale, Leary, Leach, Newton, Kline, Hornsby and one of my all time favorites…AJ Moye. Remember the Duke game?

I can't express enough how important is it that Coach came out and stated that IU is the place to be for HIM. He just closed the door on all rumors and very smart on his part to shut them down now. He is such a class act guy. I really think he will bring the program back to glory days in the near future.

Lastly, I've been hammered over the recruits for 2012 and my top 5 picks for some time and they have changed a half dozen times. But as it stand today it is:
    1. Perea 6'8
    2. DSR… I think he is 2011
    3. Jurkin 7'0
    4. Patterson 6'3
    5. Hammons 7'0

    Your thoughts?

Welcome to the board my friend. I live in East Lansing and most people that I have spoken to “wish” they could get him, but don't see it as a realistic option. High praise for our man Crean! I'm hearing more Gregory as the next man up. I too was glad that Crean came right out with this message.
