Around the Big Ten preview with UM Hoops

by in Site News | October 12th, 2009

From time-to-time, we’ll answer some questions for another Big Ten blog about the Hoosiers. Such was the case over the weekend when I participated in a Q & A with Dylan for an IU preview over at UM Hoops, a Michigan blog. You can read it by clicking here.

i don't think it's out of the question we make the ncaa tourney next season. i agree road wins will be a problem, but this is a recruiting class very similar to purdue's that made a run in the ncaa tournament with freshmen leading them. i think our recruiting class is potentially better than theirs was, but i also understand the need to set the bar low because of how bad last season was. i don't think we should start 3+ guys on a team that lost 21 of 22 last year, especially since we got a top 10 recruiting class coming in (and all the guys are most likely 4 year players). i think we should start 4 freshman and rivers and i also think the 09 recruiting class is good enough to make a run at the final 4 when they are upper classmen.

If this class is near as good as that Purdue class I will be thrilled. Hummel, Moore, Johnson, and Martin are all instant impact players. Thank god they lost Martin. Creek is like Moore. Other than that, our guys don't resemble any1. Johnson is a big, while Watford is more combo. Elston isn't the same as Hummel. I am extremely excited for this 09 class to develop.
