Around the Hall: Lute tells Arizona “peace out”

by Alex Bozich in Media | October 23rd, 2008

Around the Hall is recommended reading from the Inside the Hall crew.

+ After 780 career wins, it appears that Lute Olsen’s days at the helm in Tuscon are over. Olsen’s time at U of A the past few years was a soap opera of sorts — a leave of absence, a divorce, a feud with Kevin O’Neill and Brandon Jennings heading to Europe. If this is it, you had a good run, Lute. {ESPN.com}

+ Greg Anthony is replacing Clark Kellogg as a studio analyst for CBS and is now safe from the wrath of Stephen A. Smith. {The Dagger @ Yahoo!}

+ Friend of ITH and IDS basketball beat reporter Matt Dollinger sits down with Tom Crean for Q & A (audio here) and asks him about his plans for the student section, student ticket sales and his nerves going into his Assembly Hall debut. {Basketblog}

+ IU makes a preseason list — teams headed for the titanic this season. {Storming the Floor}

+ A man eats a 20-pound burger and lives to tell about it. {MOUTHPIECE blog}

    Would be great to take some commitments from Arizona with Lute leaving.

    Yes, it would be nice but what do we have to offer at this point ?

    Midnite Lute, named after Olsen, is favored in the Breeders Cup Sprint on Saturday . Originally I was going to bet him "across the board". This news may be a bad omen.
