Kevin Jones to West Virginia; LOI’s arrive

th_23666_recruiting_122_1173lo.jpgMount Vernon (NY) forward Kevin Jones announced his decision to attend West Virginia earlier this afternoon at a press conference. Jones was strongly considering Indiana, but ultimately chose the Moutaineers over the Hoosiers and Pittsburgh.

Ultimately, it was Bob Huggins and his ability to develop players like Jones in the past that gave the West Virginia the edge. Kevin’s brother Gerard offered the following comments to Adam Zagoria of the Zagsblog and NYChoops.net:

“Bob Huggins does the best job with tweeners like Kevin and getting them prepared for the next level,” Gerard Jones said. “With Huggins’ resume of developing players Kevin’s size and making them productive, we had to go with his resume.”

On a brighter note, Tom Pritchard, Matt Roth and Terrell Holloway have all signed and their letters have been received by Indiana according to John Decker of Hoosier Nation.

Devin Ebanks, the prized recruit of the class, is also signed, sealed and delivered according to Terry Hutchens of the Indianapolis Star.

  • He is 6’6″ like Erik Suhr was 5’11”

If Mike White is 6’6″, ITH gets more traffic than ESPN.com. But hey, if the Media guide says so, it must be true, right?

Mike White’s actually 6’10”, and I’m 7’4″. And we get more hits than the Drudge Report and IUHoosiers.com … combined.

i thought that jones was a solid student, which i suppose he still could be…it just seems hard to fathom anyone who is good with the books would want to play for huggins. i’m excited about the rest of the recruits, so jones deciding to go elsewhere is fine with me. i really thought that ebanks would bring along another east-coaster though. i know that he has been working on stephenson and some others from the 09 class, so life is still looking positive in bloomington.

I just read stephenson really likes IU, USC, and I forgot the other school, mayb UCLA. He is also talking about winning an NCAA title, however long it takes him….Mike White may be 6’4..6’4.5 at the most…..
