2026-27 IU basketball roster tracker: Portal class now at six with Lindsay, Sherrell commitments
Season one of the Darian DeVries era ended in the Big Ten tournament with a loss to Northwestern and the roster for the 2026-27 season has 10 players as of early Thursday morning.
The Hoosiers finished the 2025-26 season with an 18-14 record. IU was 9-11 in the Big Ten, was picked to finish 10th in the league and finished 10th. The program missed the NCAA tournament for a third consecutive season. IU’s last appearance in the NCAA tournament came in 2023 under Mike Woodson, ending with a second-round loss to Miami (FL).
The transfer portal opened Tuesday, April 7 and six of IU’s scholarship players from last season’s roster have entered. The Hoosiers have added six players via the transfer portal so far.

Out of eligibility and not returning
Six IU players from the 2025-26 season have completed their eligibility and will not return for the 2026-27 season.
Tucker DeVries, Lamar Wilkerson, Tayton Conerway, Conor Enright, Reed Bailey and Sam Alexis were six of IU’s top seven scorers from last season and will not be on IU’s roster next season.
Of note, a report surfaced on April 15 that Conerway has entered the transfer portal, but unless the NCAA grants him additional eligibility, his career is over.
Confirmed to return for the 2026-27 season
Trent Sisley, who averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game in the 2025-26 season, will return to Bloomington for his sophomore season.
The Southern Indiana native is the only returnee for the 2026-27 season.
Entering the transfer portal
Six IU players who were eligible to return next season have entered the transfer portal: Jason Drake, Jasai Miles, Josh Harris, Aleksa Ristic, Nick Dorn and Andrej Acimovic.
Drake announced his entry to the portal on Wednesday, April 1 and Miles and Harris both announced on Monday, April 6. Ristic announced his portal entry on Tuesday, April 7, Dorn entered the portal on Thursday, April 9 and Acimovic on Monday, April 13.
None of the six have chosen new schools as of Thursday morning. The portal will close on Tuesday, April 21.
Roster additions from high school
Indiana currently has three freshmen joining the 2026-27 roster.
The Hoosiers signed guard Prince-Alexander Moody and wing Vaughn Karvala last fall and landed a commitment from wing Trevor Manhertz in late January. The program officially announced the signings of Moody and Karvala in November and announced the signing of Manhertz on April 15.
IU’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked among the top 20 classes nationally.
Roster additions from the transfer portal
IU basketball landed three transfer portal commitments on Monday, April 13, a fourth commitment on Tuesday, April 14 and commitments five and six on Wednesday, April 15.
In order, Jaeden Mustaf (Georgia Tech), Darren Harris (Duke), Markus Burton (Notre Dame), Samet Yigitoglu (SMU), Aiden Sherrell (Alabama) and Bryce Lindsay (Villanova) have committed to the Hoosiers, giving DeVries the core of his second portal class in Bloomington.
The portal opened on Tuesday, April 7 and will be open for 15 days.
