Crean lands first commitment: Ohio’s Bobby Capobianco
According to Peegs.com, Tom Crean has landed his first verbal commitment for the 2009 recruiting class: Bobby Capobianco. He’s a 6-foot-8, 220 pound forward who plays for Loveland in Ohio and is a member of the Indiana Elite AAU team. St. Louis, Marquette (surprise, surprise) and West Virgina were some other top suitors. Capobianco averaged somewhere in the ballpark of 21 points and 12 rebounds this season for Loveland. The thing I like about this pull: he is big. IU needs bigs, IU never has bigs. (At least as of late.)
So yes: the first Crean recruit is in.
