Five-star guard Braylon Mullins to announce college choice on Wednesday, October 23
Five-star class of 2025 Greenfield-Central guard Braylon Mullins has set a date for his college announcement.
The 6-foot-5 Mullins will announce his decision on Wednesday, October 23, per Joe Tipton. According to Travis Branham, the announcement will occur at 6 p.m. ET via the 247Sports YouTube channel.
He will choose between Indiana, UConn and North Carolina and has visited all three schools. Mullins is the top prospect remaining on the IU recruiting board for the senior class.
One of the top shooters in the country, Mullins climbed the national recruiting rankings in the spring and summer based on his strong play with Indiana Elite.
According to MaxPreps, he averaged 25 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game as a junior at Greenfield-Central and shot better than 40 percent on 3-pointers.
Last month, Indiana landed a commitment from his close friend and AAU teammate, Trent Sisley.
Here’s what Mullins told Kyle Neddenriep of The Indianapolis Star recently regarding his recruitment in an interview on YouTube:
On where things currently stand:
“I finished all three of my official visits so I’m not going to be visiting anymore anytime soon. I’m just kind of pacing myself out. I’ve got fall break next week and I have like seven to eight days to think about it. But my commitment is coming up soon. It’s going to be probably in the middle of October. But also I’ve been just writing things down, 10 minutes a day, just trying to figure it all out for myself, what best fits me. All three are all good schools.”
On Trent Sisley:
“He’s definitely reminding me (about IU). He reminds me probably every other day. Just giving me those red and white circles. It’s definitely good having him to talk to about it because he’s the one who is committed and what he feels, he’s letting me know about it.”
On IU’s message and last pitch:
“They’re just showing me game film and what they’re trying to change because they know that previously, most recently last year, they’ve played big-in. It was just post, out to the guard play. They’re changing the offense a little bit and they’re trying to pitch that to me and show that I can do a lot for them and that I can play right away.”
On whether distance could be a factor:
“I still don’t know if I want to go far yet or not. It’s also going to be a challenge taking a bet for yourself, going far (away) and IU is only an hour away. It’s just a different standpoint for all three schools and it’s just like, I still don’t know what I want to do yet and I need to talk to my parents about that.”
