Film Session: Ohio State

Indiana’s offense found new life in its win against the Buckeyes on Thursday evening.

One reason for the spark? The Hoosiers’ ability to defend Ohio State tough and then flip around to the other end for scores — sometimes in transition, other times after running action or sets.

We’ll take a look at Indiana turning defense into offense against the Buckeyes in the latest edition of Film Session:

Here Indiana shuts down ball screens from Ohio State twice. First, Trayce Jackson-Davis’ help cuts off Meechie Johnson Jr.’s drive.

Then Jordan Geronimo’s switch onto Cedric Russell results in a blocked shot allowing for an IU runout.

From there, an entry pass to Jackson-Davis draws the Ohio State defense, allowing Galloway to get into the lane and draw even more defenders, which leaves Geronimo open on the right wing and he knocks in the triple.

Nice work by Indiana’s offense here to get the Buckeyes scrambling after the Geronimo block.
