6-Banner Sunday is Inside the Hall’s weekly newsletter in partnership with The Assembly Call. Nearly 8,000 Indiana fans receive the newsletter each week. In addition to appearing each week on the site, you can also opt to receive 6-Banner Sunday by email. A form to subscribe via email is available at the bottom of this week’s 6-Banner Sunday.

Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.

Overall, this past week was a bit quieter around Indiana Basketball than we have grown accustomed to lately. There was an additional staff hiring, some recruiting news, and a great interview with Lynnea Phillips. Of course, Hoosier Roundup will be in this week’s 6-Banner Sunday as well.

Also, here is the latest episode of Assembly Call Radio.

• Indiana Hires Armond Hill as the Director of Basketball Administration
• Early June Recruiting Update for 2022
• All the reasons that Indiana’s Bahamas trip is a good idea
• Behind the scenes with Lynnea Philips on IU’s Social Media and NIL Strategy
• Indiana offers scholarship to class of 2023 point guard Jeremy Fears
• Hoosier Roundup

Banner #1 – Indiana Hires Armond Hill as Director of Basketball Administration

This week Indiana announced the hire of Armond Hill as the Director of Basketball Administration. Hill comes to Indiana with extensive experience at both the college and the NBA level. Inside the Hall had a great piece this week on Hill.

Banner #2 – Early June Update: 2022 Indiana Basketball Recruiting Board

Alex Bozich and his crew at Inside the Hall helped get us all caught up on Indiana’s recruiting efforts for 2022.

So far, the only recruit committed for 2022 is CJ Gunn, from Lawrence North High School. The same Lawrence North High School that had produced greats like Eric Montross, Todd Leary, Greg Oden, and Mike Conley.

Banner #3 – All the reasons that Indiana’s trip to the Bahamas makes sense

The Indy Star had a good article this week on the advantages of Indiana’s late summer trip to the Bahamas to play a pair of exhibition games.

This 2021-22 Indiana team has a lot of new pieces, from the coaching staff to the new additions brought on board this offseason. The extra time that this team has together before the season begins should prove very helpful to the Hoosiers.

Banner #4 – Behind the scenes with Lynnea Philips on IU’s Social Media and NIL Strategy

I usually don’t put a podcast as one of the week’s banners, but Jerod Morris’ interview with Lynnea Philips was just too good to pass up.

Phillips is the Director of Social and Digital Media for IU Athletics and the conversation is an interesting look behind the scenes. It covers the inner workings of a Big Ten athletic department when it comes to social media and also discusses Indiana’s NIL strategy.

Banner #5 – Indiana offers a scholarship to class of 2023 point guard Jeremy Fears

One new development this week was the fact that Indiana offered a scholarship to 2023 point guard Jeremy Fears.

Fears is the No. 23 ranked recruit in the class of 2023 by 247Sports. He received the offer during his recent unofficial visit to IU.
