Film Session: Iowa

Patrick McCaffery appears to look for a dribble hand-off to Tony Perkins on the left wing. But Khristian Lander cuts off the angle:

So Patrick McCaffery brings it up top with a pass to Wieskamp. Jackson-Davis fronts Garza on the left high block:

Wieskamp drives left on Anthony Leal:

Lander then helps off Perkins to stop the drive:

Lander goes hands high in the passing lane once Wieskamp is stopped:

Perkins uses that opportunity to go back door on Lander, but he’s able to recognize it and get his hands on the ball for a steal:

Leal picks the ball up for IU to gain possession:

Lander has struggled defensively this season, but the couple minutes he got during the middle of the second half showed some progress on the defensive end. This steal came at a key point in the game with the game tied at 53-all.
