Class of 2021 guard Jordan Longino announcing college decision on Thursday, July 23

A prominent Indiana basketball recruiting target will announce his college decision this week.

Jordan Longino, a 6-foot-5 guard from Fort Washington (PA) who plays at Germantown Academy, will make his college choice public on Thursday, July 23.

The announcement will come at 8 p.m. ET, according to Longino’s Twitter account.

Longino is ranked the No. 96 player nationally in the latest 247Composite rankings, but is No. 32 in the 247Sports rankings.

According to Tipton Edits, a Twitter account who often assists prospects with graphics related to their college announcements, Longino is considering Indiana, Villanova, Virginia, Ohio State, UConn, Maryland and Marquette.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball has Longino headed to Villanova, although only one pick has been registered. That pick, however, is from 247Sports national analyst Brian Snow.

This will be the second recruit this cycle that Indiana and Villanova have battled head-to-head to land. In June, 2021 forward Trey Patterson picked Villanova over Indiana and Florida.

Indiana offered Longino a scholarship in April after assistant coach Bruiser Flint followed him closely throughout his high school season.

Longino averaged 21 points per game as a freshman (second-most in Philadelphia’s Inter-Academic League), before increasing that total to 22.6 points per game as a sophomore and 22.9 points per game as a junior. This past season, he shot better than 54 percent from the field and better than 41 percent from 3-point range to go along with being an 80 percent free-throw shooter and collecting an average of six rebounds per game.

Indiana has one player committed for its 2021 recruiting class, Cincinnati Moeller big man Logan Duncomb.
