Film Session: Michigan State
Now with the Spartans caught up a bit down just six later in the first half, Bingham Jr. shovels to Foster Loyer:
Loyer is able to get around Trayce Jackson-Davis and Green on the baseline. Thompson starts to bring chase on the rotation:
Loyer passes around Thompson to Malik Hall:
Thompson is able to recover back to Hall and bodies him up. Green and Armaan Franklin come to the ball:
With Thompson still bodying Hall, Franklin strips the ball loose:
It heads right as they battle for it. Jackson-Davis and Loyer notice:
They both dive on the floor for the ball, but it ends up with Jackson-Davis:
He passes ahead to Franklin:
Franklin dribbles down the court and is met by Hall in the lane and begins to turn back. But here comes Thompson on the trailer streaking down the center of the court:
Franklin finds Thompson and makes the pass:
Thompson gets the shot up and over Bingham Jr. for the score:
Thompson’s strong defense allowed for Franklin’s additional pressure. And Thompson’s hustle to keep going on this play got him the bucket on the other end. Credit goes to Jackson-Davis as well for getting on the floor for the loose ball as well.
