Film Session: Illinois

Justin Smith cuts to the lane and Romeo Langford makes the pass:

He’s stopped in the lane:

So he turns around and finds Zach McRoberts on the right wing:

McRoberts fires it to an open Green down near the corner:

Green hoists the shot:

It misses and Dosunmu grabs the rebound on the other side of the basket:

The Illini push the pace once more. Dosunmu passes up the court to Andres Feliz and he’s ahead of four Hoosiers:

Feliz has just McRoberts ahead of him and he makes a move on him right to the basket with the rest of the Hoosier defense looking on:

As Feliz gets to the basket, Indiana has overplayed its hand. Morgan is up in the air. McRoberts is out of the picture out of bounds. Both Green and Langford are watching close to the action. Only Smith is actively covering another Illinois player in the left corner. This leaves the wings open and the Illini fill the space:

So Feliz makes the heady play out of traffic to pass the ball to the left wing and finds Da’Monte Williams:

He steps up and bangs home the 3-pointer with pretty much no resistance to put the Illini up 10 points:

While Green got a good look on the other end, the Hoosiers started just 1-of-8 from distance in this game. The Illini took advantage of the long rebounds for quick scores on the other end, as Indiana had trouble containing their transition attack.
