Film Session: Butler
Josh Newkirk scored on Indiana’s end to cut the lead to 10. On Butler’s next possession, we see a similar setup with Martin in the corner and Morgan marking him. This time it’s Savage coming left for the hand off:
Martin receives the ball on the hand off:
Morgan initially plays him a little tighter, but as a ball screen comes, Morgan chooses to put his body into it and gives Martin several feet of space:
As he rises and releases, Morgan is still on the ground. It’s another 3-pointer for Martin to push the lead out to 13 for the Bulldogs:
This was part of a stretch in the second half where Martin scored eight straight points on three possessions in a row to keep the surging Hoosiers at bay.
“We’ve got to get our hands up, and I’d like to tell you that it’s a lot deeper than that,” Tom Crean said after the contest.
